October 10 was the 60th anniversary of the Establishment Day of the Chosun Worker’s Party. I was able to catch people coming out of the ceremony held each work places and resting the morning of the holiday at the bank of the Yalu River on my camera.
Returning from the ceremony, people were dressed formally. For the first time in long period, there was a revolving rollercoaster and music. Despite cool weather of October morning, there were children playing in the river, sprinkling water.
Even on a holiday like this, there were soldiers reposted to strengthen the border area and the border patrol. The soldiers were still busy on a holiday. Despite the extensive propaganda by the government of North Korea for the day’s event, people do not look so excited.
