Kim was in a state of total exhaustion after he suffered from the effects of torture, depression, and malnutrition while he had rectal cancer.” It further stated, “We will make the Kim Jong Il regime pay for the sins it has committed by democratizing North Korea, no matter what.”

The statement stated, “We strongly blame and condemn the irresponsible attitude of the South Korean government for not making any effort to repatriate Rev. Kim Dong Sik or to protect him until he met his death,” and urged “the government should have officially stated the truth about Rev. Kim Dong Sik’s kidnapping to North Korea and come up with a countermeasure for his repatriation.”

The Government Must Publicize the Truth about the Kidnapping of Rev. Kim Dong Sik and Make Countermeasures for His Repatriation!

On January 6th, in the meeting sponsored by the Grand National Party, ‘Discussion Panel for Making a Countermeasure for Rescue of Rev. Kim Dong Sik,’ the secretary general of the Citizen’s Coalition for Human Rights of Abductees and North Korean Refugees, Do Hee Yoon, asserted that he was assured of Rev. Kim Dong Sik’s death by his cooperators in China and North Korea.

Until now, North Korean human rights groups were holding on to the thinnest of hopes that Rev. Kim Dong Sik was alive and has been carrying out rescue activities. However, we heard the heartbreaking news that before he died, Rev. Kim was in a state of total exhaustion after he suffered from side effects of torture, depression, and malnutrition while he had a rectal cancer.

NKnet strongly criticizes the inhumane acts committed by the North Korea regime that tortured and murdered Rev. Kim Dong Sik. We will make the Kim Jong Il regime accountable for the crimes it has committed by democratizing North Korea no matter what.

NKnet blames and strongly condemns the irresponsible attitude of the government for not making any effort to repatriate Rev. Kim Dong Sik or to protect him until he met his death. The government must still officially state the truth about Rev. Kim Dong Sik’s kidnapping to North Korea and come up with countermeasures for his repatriation.
