The Yanggang Province Party Committee is organizing a re-education program for all party officials in the province, Daily NK has learned.

“The provincial party committee held a lecture after the Saturday study session on June 29, saying that party officials need re-education so that they can be renewed,” a source in Yanggang Province told Daily NK on Tuesday, speaking on condition of anonymity.

According to the source, the provincial party committee used the lecture as an opportunity to unveil its re-education plan, noting the importance of equipping all party officials with the ideology of party building under the leadership of Kim Jong Un so that they can improve their practical skills and enhance their party leadership abilities.

“The re-education of party officials will be carried out from July to the second half of this year. Officials will be re-educated in stages, either at the Central Cadre Training School or in working-level programs at provincial, city and county party training schools, depending on their ranks and responsibilities,” the source said.

The source said the provincial party committee has already approved the re-education program with officials and teachers at provincial, city and county training schools.

After the provincial party committee’s lecture, committee officials advised each other to “be careful, because re-education is aimed at squeezing every last drop out of us officials.”

After the lecture, the provincial party committee drew up a list of people to attend the reeducation program in July. Some of the committee officials on the list lamented that “we have to buckle down and go through revolutionary education at such an advanced age,” while others on the list were warned that “when you are in the party school, you won’t be allowed to drink alcohol at night and you won’t be allowed to leave the campus very often.

The provincial party committee’s plan to re-educate party officials was also communicated to party committees at farms and enterprises through their respective city and county committees, the source said.

In particular, the provincial party committee has asked party committees at enterprises, farms, and other production units to “carefully draw up re-education programs for party officials so as not to disrupt party leadership regarding production,” the source said.
