Chosun Postal Service’s Calendar – February

The month of February has already come to us. The DailyNK introduces February calendar published by the North Korea’s Postal Service, Chosun Woopyo Sa.

The 2005 calendar has a picture of a baby for each month. For February, it says, “Mommy , look at me.”

There is a small picture of “Cabin of Baekdu Mountain” where Kim Jong Il is believed to be born. Beside the picture, it says in both Korean and English, “February 16, Juche 31 (2942): The great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il was born.”
In North Korea, official holidays noted with red letters in February are 9th Seol (Chinese New Year), 16th, Birthday of Kim Jong Il, and 23rd, The Great Full Moon Day.
