North Korea announced this morning that the 4th Chosun Workers’ Party Delegates’ Conference is to be held on April 11th in Pyongyang.
The event is almost certain to see Kim Jong Eun handed the position of Chosun Workers’ Party General-Secretary and Central Military Commission Chairman.
As predicted by Daily NK late last week, the 4th Party Delegates’ Conference is being held shortly before the 5th session of the 12th Supreme People’s Assembly on the 13th, two days before celebrations to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Kim Il Sung.
At the time, Daily NK was able to reveal via inside sources that delegates from Hyesan and other distant provincial centers had been ordered to arrive in Pyongyang by April 5th, a long lead-in time which implied that space was being made in the pre-SPA schedule for the Delegates’ Conference
There have been a string of local provincial and municipal conferences held to formally select delegates for dispatch to the upcoming event in the North Korean capital, the first since Kim Jong Eun was unveiled at the 3rd Party Delegates’ Conference on September 28th, 2010.
