Talks about Talks Yield No Talks

The latest round of military talks between the U.S. and North Korea has ended with no tangible progress being made, according to reports.

The talks occurred over the course of two hours at Panmunjeom this morning. The aim of the colonel-level talks was to set the schedule and agenda for later, general-level talks on issues related to the maintenance of the armistice.

However, “During the Tuesday meeting, the two sides basically confirmed each side’s stance, and a new date was not proposed for follow-up talks,” an anonymous United Nations Command official told Yonhap this afternoon.
