Former South Korean naval commander Kim Sung Man has urged the full resumption of psychological warfare targeting North Korea as stipulated under the May 24th Measure. He told a seminar in Seoul today, “Concerns over a Cheonan sinking-type provocation have returned once again.”

Kim told the seminar, convened in advance of the third anniversary of the Cheonan incident, which took place on March 26th 2010, “[The South Korean government] must enact both the military and non-military measures it promised on May 24th, 2010.”

“We must restart psychological warfare operations and pass judgment in absentia upon those responsible for provocations,” he declared, adding that the main goal of actions should be to end the regime of Kim Jong Eun.

Whereas, Kim went on to add, if the South Korean military is not to be permitted to defend the country then it stands to lose its very identity, while North Korea will not take South Korea seriously if it continues to “go back to the start” every time there is a change of personnel or leadership in Seoul.
