The South Korean government believes that the Kim Jong Eun regime is engaged in reviewing the work of important officials in the Party, military and state administrative sectors so as to establish their loyalty and relative levels of corruption, and replace key personnel with Kim’s own people.
A Ministry of Unification (MOU) official told reporters yesterday, “Since Kim Jong Eun was elevated to supreme leader this past April, he has been checking the loyalty and corruption of Party, military and cabinet members. Starting in Pyongyang, this has now reached down to regional units.”
“Those who are deemed to have a problem are being removed by either being demoted or replaced,” he went on. “They are changing over the leadership so as to install Kim Jong Eun’s people, but it’s not a massive purge.”
The MOU is of the opinion that the process is mostly complete for the Party and cabinet, but is ongoing in the military hierarchy.
