Leaked Koh Video Gives Party a Headache

A propaganda documentary film about Kim Jong Eun’s mother was recently leaked before it was due for release. The 90-minute film, ‘The Mother of Great Military-first Chosun’, is about Koh Young Hee and her role as de-facto first lady.

A source reported to Daily NK late last week, “The Central Party distributed the 2011 documentary film idolizing Koh Young Hui to cadres for evaluation prior to general distribution. However, somewhere the cadres leaked it and now it is spreading.”

“A few cadres from the Lectures Division of the Central Party Propaganda and Agitation Department led the making of the film. The Department distributed the documentary to cadres, and then intended to release it to the people so as to manipulate public opinion.”

“The documentary getting distributed even before the people know how Koh Young Hui looks could cause a problem, so the authorities are racing to get it back,” the source explained.

“The authorities are taking back the documentary film to cover up the fact that Koh Young Hee is a Japanese-Korean,” a second source explained. “Since the beginning of the Kim Jong Eun era the authorities have been planning to produce a documentary idolizing Koh Young Hee, but have been worried that the people might work out that she is from Japan, so they produced the documentary under a different name.”

According to information received by ‘Rescue the North Korean People! Urgent Action Network’ (RENK), the video introduces a women appearing to be Kim Jong Eun’s mother, ‘Ri Eun Shil’. Following the inside information reported by the Daily NK source, images said to be from the film were released by Japan’s Mainichi Shimbun on the 10th (see below).
