Kim Young Nam Descends into Hanoi

Kim Young Nam, the head of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly and nominally the North Korean head of state, arrived in Hanoi on the 5th at the invitation of Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang..

According to a short Chosun Central News Agency report, “They were greeted by the director of the General Office of the Presidency of Vietnam, Ho Xuan Son, deputy minister of Foreign Affairs, Vietnamese Ambassador to the DPRK Le Quang Ba and officials concerned, DPRK Ambassador to Vietnam Kim Chang Il and his embassy officials.”

Kim is, the piece went on, “accompanied by Minister of Foreign Trade Ri Ryong Nam, Minister of Mining Industry Kang Min Chol [and] Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kung Sok Ung.”
