North Korea’s Joongang (Central) Broadcasting reported Tuesday that Kim Jong Il made an onsite inspection at Pyongyang Central Zoo, stopping there for a number of hours.

The report claimed that Kim looked around several areas of the zoo over a significant period of time, and expressed contentment with it.

The Central Zoo possesses around 630 different species, a total of 6,500 specimens, and has been remodeled across the board after a special instruction from Kim Jong Il in 2006.

North Korean media released photographs of Kim showing him applauding and raising his hands high during an onsite inspection of the 1016 Air Unit on the 1st of December, in order to show Kim’s healthy condition. Now it continues to advertise the Dear Leader’s wellbeing, reporting “Kim looked around the zoo for a long time.”

For the Central Zoo inspection, Kim was accompanied by Directors of the Central Committee of the Party Jang Sung Taek and Kim Yang Gun, First Director of the Foreign Ministry Kang Suk Joo, First Vice-Directors of the Central Committee Lee Jeh Gang and Lee Jae Il, Director of the Chosun Central Broadcasting Committee Chan Seung Soo and Generals of the People’s Army Hyun Cheul Hae and Lee Myung Soo.

According to North Korean reports, Kim Jong Il has visited seven places in the last month, November, including the 1016 Air Unit on November 30.
