Dr. Jacob Reidhead is a sociologist specializing in the politics of East
and Central Asia. His research agenda, Organization of Power,
investigates the social structures underlying the exercise of power and
interrogates prevailing individualist and institutionalist theories of
power. Jacob currently works as an assistant professor of Asian
Studies at National Chengchi University in Taipei and is a non-
resident research affiliate of the DPRK Strategic Research Center at
KIMEP University. Prior to entering academia, Jacob worked as a data
analyst for a Honolulu-based analytics consulting firm, SMS Research,
and a program officer for the non-profit Mercy Corps, administering a
USAID food aid program to the DPRK. Jacob holds a PhD in sociology
from Stanford University and an MA in statistics from the Ohio State
University.
