Chongyon(General Association of North Korean Residents in Japan)-based newspaper, the Chosun Shinbo, which has played the role of introducing Kim Jong Il regime’s aspects to the outside, reported on the 28th, “After the North’s success in nuclear experiments, changes have already taken place.”
Further, “If the South acts in agreement with the nation-centered position, then this year can be another watershed in attaining a ‘great revolution’ in accomplishing the reunification.”
It means to the extent that North Korea has become a nuclear country, a fundamental transformation in the power’s structure that is surrounding the peninsula will take place.
Also, the paper said, “The North will not agree with the South’s connection with the rice support issue and North Korea carrying out the developments of the February 13 agreement.”
The Chosun Shinbo revealed, “The North’s political will is that it will commit to denuclearization according to the February 13 agreement once the financial sanctions issue is solved. However, it also did not raise the intention of North Korea reserving the pending question of North-South relations until the BDA issue is resolved.”
Chosun Shinbo’s commentary is being observed because such position surfaced in the midst of worrying about the limping of the 21st Inter-Korea Cabinet Talks, which will begin on the 29th according to how South Korean government decides the course of action regarding the rice support and the North’s implementation of the February 13 agreement.
The paper pointed out that “The South might be getting connected with the purpose of stimulating the implementation of the February 13 agreement. However, due to the BDA problem as the main issue, the North-South relation has become flawed.”
