The South and the North agreed to sign off on 7 articles regarding the establishment of a joint committee to discuss military measures for economic cooperation, the opening of the 3rd Defense Ministerial Talks in Seoul next year, and others.
However, regarding the core issue of establishing a joint fishing area in West Sea, the two sides were unable to reach a consensus and will negotiate the matter further in the General-Level Talks.
They confirmed the mutual non-use of armed force and the peaceful resolution of conflicts through the agreement. Additionally, concrete measures for economic cooperation were specified for each of the 7 articles of the agreement.
The delegates of the South and the North were supposed to hold the final meeting at 4:30p.m., but it was reportedly delayed until 5p.m.
