Washington D.C. — Under the purpose of promoting the freedom, human rights and dignity of the North Korean people, the events of North Korea Freedom Week (April 26-May 3, 2008) are under way.
In light of North Korea Freedom Week, a rally which was hosted by the North Korean Freedom Coalition and the Korean American Church Coalition for North Korea Freedom, was held on the 29th at Taft Memorial Carillon Park near the U.S. Capitol. Members of the U.S. Congress, NGO leaders, and North Korean defectors spoke at the rally. Approximately a hundred people, including Korean-Americans in the Washington D.C. area, NGO members, and North Korean human rights activists, gathered to protest the regime.
