[imText1]Recently, visits to North Korea by South Korean politicians and high-ranking officials continue to happen. Regarding their visits, Hwang Jang Yop (the chairman of North Korean Democratization Alliance) reprimanded them because they do not penetrate into the intrinsic factors of North Korea on these visits.
Hwang deplored the contemptible surface-level view of North Korea that the South Korean politicians have, through a 21st table-talk with a politician performed on the ‘Hwang Jang Yop Seminar” which is serially broadcasted through Free NK.
In response to the politician saying, “It is better for DJ (the former president, Kim Dae Jung) to visit Kim Jong Il by train,” Hwang asked, “Why so?”
The politician replied, “If so, Kim Jong Il will come again by train.” Also, in response to Hwang asking, “Then what is good?” he just said, “If so, war could not break out.”

Plus, in a talk with a person who has been to North Korea five or six times, Hwang asked, “What did you see in North Korea?” He answered, “North Koreans were too poor to switch on the electric light.”
After the talk, Hwang pointed out that, “Being poor itself is not wrong. Therefore, it is significant to look into why only North Korea is poor. Both South Korea and North Korea were freed at the same time and on the same day,” adding, “What they saw on the visits to North Korea was all about the external features, not the intrinsic factors.”
In addition, Hwang emphasized, “What they should see in North Korea is how serious the dictatorship is, how much human rights are trampled and how anti-democratic North Korea is.
Hwang also claimed that it is illogical to discuss peace with Kim Jong Il who puts priority on military politics, saying, “It is wrong to think that not aggravating the national traitor Kim Jong Il, but rather flattering him is the way to prevent the war itself.”
National Cooperation with Kim Jong Il Emphasizing Prior Military Politics is Primarily the Wrong Way
Hwang emphasized, “The intrinsic problems lie in the fact that South Korea forms a national cooperation with Kim Jong Il who is starving the people to death, making the whole nation a huge prison and discrediting our nation with counterfeit money and drug manufacturing.”
Hwang stated, “It is only Kim Jong Il to broadly claim the prior military politics,” saying, “While militarists like Stalin wore a military uniform calling himself a generalissimo, they did not broadly advocate militarism.”
He also indicated, “The mutual cooperation with Kim Jong Il to prevent war is deceiving the people,” saying, “It is ridiculous to cooperate with a militarist regime that is worse than the Stalin regime.”
He added, “Keeping the peace will work only by strengthening the alliance between South Korea and the U.S, and our security system,” saying, “As far as there is no chance to win a war, Kim Jong Il will not bring about any war.”
