The Worst North Korean Export Goods in 2005

[imText1]Chinese trading merchants have selected Neo Viagra Y.R. and Tetrodocain as the worst export goods from North Korea.

Neo Viagra Y.R. was advertised as the North Korean version of Viagra for the treatment of sexual malfunction while Tetrodocain was said to be an antidote detoxifying such narcotics as opium, cocaine, and heroin.

Is Neo Viagra Y.R. better than American Viagra?

Chsun East Center for Immediate Effect Drugs, which had developed Neo Viagra Y.R., claimed that the drug was more effective than American Viagra in increasing both male and female sexual performance, and moreover it could cure 90% of cases of hepatitis, nephritis, arthritis, and back pain.

According to the directions of the drug, one can have sexual intercourse 3 to 6 times within 1 to 2 hours after taking the drug and he can keep up for 15 to 30 minutes. It is also possible to have intercourse ten times in 16 to 24 hours. If one takes 4 to 5 boxes of the drug, he can cure 90% of back pain, arthralgia, shoulder pain caused by nerve trouble and back trouble. Moreover, it is more effective on treating the hardening of arteries and obesity than American Viagra.

Mr Ryu, a Chinese trading merchant from Dandong, China, who has done business with the North for 8 years, said, “Those who experienced the drug say that it doesn’t have any effect, including side effects.”

“The non-effectiveness of the medicine is not the only problem. The final touch of the drug is so poor that many empty capsules are found in the box because the medicinal powder has spilled out. North Korea should understand the international level of requirements regarding techniques, advertisements, and final touches as long as it wants to earn money for foreign countries.”

North Korea featured Neo Viagra Y.R. in Chosun, a North Korean illustrated magazine, and widely distributed samples of it to trading merchants from the Dandong and Yenbin areas. Because the effectiveness of the drug did not reach the expectation, export and joint production have not been realized.

Tetrodocain is an antidote developed by a narcotics producer

▲ Tetrodocain, an injection of antidote, was paid much attention to because it was created by North Korea, the best producer of narcotics.

Last April, the security police of Yanji City, China arrested Cho Seung Nam, a Chinese residing abroad, for his narcotics business with the North around the Sino-Korean border area of Helong City of Yanbian autonomous prefecture. 1.5kg of Philopon was confiscated from him.

Right after this incident, the Chinese security police reinforced its control over narcotics trade around Sino-Korean border areas, and this encouraged North Korean trade companies to advertise Tetrodocain as an antidote for narcotics and distribute samples to trading merchants from Dandong and Yanbian areas.

Chinese merchants were very interested in the antidote because it had been made by the best producer of narcotics in the world. A trade company from Yanji City that opened a branch office in Chongjin of North Hamkyeong Province, North Korea received a lot of phone calls requesting samples, some of which were even from Shenyang and Harbin.

However, the merchants came to the conclusion after a test that the only effect of the antidote is some temporary alleviation of pain. When it was injected into a drug addict, no special detoxification was found. Thus, the large quantity of the antidote purchased were all cancelled.

North Korean trade companies have advertised that Tetrodocain cures drug intoxication such as opium, morphine, and cocaine, and moreover it has an excellent effect on tuberculosis, gastric ulcers, gallstones, asthma, rheumatism, and neuralgia. According to the direction of the antidote, it really is a panacea.

Mr. Kang, the Korean-Chinese vice financial manager of A trade company from Yanji City said, “All the fuss about Tetrodocain was caused by the strong confidence in the North Korean technology in making narcotics. If North Korea really wants to earn money from other countries, it must open the trade path toward China to producers, which is occupied by the People’s Army, security agency, and high ranking government officials in Pyongyang. It is difficult for North Korea to produce quality goods for export because producers, sellers in foreign countries, and collectors of profits have nothing in common in North Korea.”
