Kim Jong Eun has chaired a meeting of the extended Central Military Commission, Rodong Sinmun reported on the 26th.
During the meeting, Kim reportedly handed down an “important decision” on the “sovereignty and security of the country,” according to the Korean version of the article on the subject. The slightly amended English version referred instead to an “important concluding speech.” Neither version contained a detailed explanation.
“The meeting discussed and decided upon practical issues of further bolstering the combat ability of the revolutionary armed forces and increasing the defense capability of the country in every way, as required by the situation and present state of the People’s Army,” both versions of the report noted.
The report also revealed that a personnel (“organizational”) issue was discussed during the meeting, but further detail was not given. Also, as is customary in North Korean media reports, no date or location was specified.
