[imText1]Kim Young Nam claimed that he graduated from ‘Kumsung University of Political Science’ and studied in a ‘special department related to unification’.
He said he goes by the name ‘Kim Chul Jun’, as required by the ‘special department related to unification’ in North Korea, which trains in espionage.
It is unclear whether the mistake in claiming that he went to Kumsung University of Political Science was intentional, but the university has changed its name several times since its establishment in 1946, finally settling on the present one in 1974. Kumsung University of Political Science is where party members and young officials at worker’s organizations are trained.
On the other hand, Kumsung University of Political and Military Science was turned into Kim Jong Il University of Political and Military Science, which educates students on espionage in South Korea. Therefore, it is different from Kumsung University of Political Science. Kim’s claim of having graduated from Kumsung University of Political Science is therefore doubtful. Whether it was a simple mistake, or a strategy to confuse the South Korean Information Agency, is unclear.
South Korea Espionage Organizations Educate about the Reality and Culture of South Korea
Ahn Myung Jin, who graduated from Kim Jong Il University of Political and Military Science, came to South Korea in 1993, and disclosed that South Koreans abducted by spies are educating spies in North Korea.
Ahn Myung Jin said approximately 20 South Korean unidentified abductees are educating spies to South Korea at a ‘Revolutionary Center For South Koreanization.’
The Revolutionary Center For South Koreanization is one of the departments at Kim Jong Il University of Political and Military Science, managed by the Strategy Department of the Central Party, which is in charge of educating spies. It is known to be a small ‘South Korean Model House’ used to train the spies in an environment similar to what they would experience in the South.
North Korea is using those of the abducted who are smart and efficient as teachers for the spies to South Korea. It seems that Mr. Kim, after graduating from Kim Jong Il University of Political and Military Science, has also been working at the Department of Investigation of Foreign Information.
The Only School Named after Kim Jong Il
Kim Jong Il University of Political and Military Science is an education department in charge of training infiltration teams and combatants under the Strategy Department of the Central Party.
It was established as Kumsung University of Political and Military Science in 1962 and was a school of political science directly under the Central Committee of the Central Party. It was renamed Kim Jong Il University of Political and Military Science for the 50th Birthday of Kim Jong Il in January 1992.
This University is the only school named after Kim Jong Il. Students consist of those of excellent intelligence, body, ideology, and children of officials at the National Security Agency, the Social Safety Agency, and the Central Party.
Among high schools and middle schools, agents at Department #5 of the Central Party in each province select 1~2 excellent students, who again go through a strict review of their backgrounds and academic achievements. After a physical examination, 2 years of examination is conducted by the province and the central party.
Training Operators to South Korea, Strict Ideology Education
The curriculum at Kim Jong Il University of Political and Military Science consists of 40% of study devoted to the revolutionary ideologies of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, 40% of study devoted to Physical Education, shooting practice and strategic attack, and 20% devoted to driving, communications and computer use.
Above all, the ideological education is very strict. Combatants consider suicide as the highest honor at the last minute of their lives, and Kim Jong Il selected the ‘Self Destruction Theory’ as one of the subjects and the 5th chapter of the philosophy text, ‘Revolutionary Self Destruction’.
Combatants train to run 40km or swim 8km in 3 hours with sand bags of 25~30kg, hide in a small pit with one week worth of food, communicate secretly in cities and mountain areas, and practice combat with 15 to 20 people at once, according to the teaching by Kim Jong Il “Combatants need to be able to run 40~80km in one night”.
During the 6 months of Special Training, students are trained to jump onto a moving car, throw knives and climb steep mountains. The level of the training is 4~5 times more severe than special training for the military.
They are each assigned to a department for operation in South Korea, and are trained in plane bombing, assassination, and walking 1000 miles. After all the training, they are assigned as combatants and agents for operation in South Korea.
When the students graduate, they receive the title of captain. The students wear olive uniforms and hats with a red star when they go out in public. They are assigned to the Strategy Department in Chongjin, Nampo, Wonsan and the Department of Investigation of Foreign Information under the Department of Operation to South Korea of the (North) Korea Worker’s Party.
Although Kim Young Nam has been brainwashed for 28 years, the reunion with his mother must have invoked some emotion in his heart.
