North Korea has seized the opportunity presented by vociferous leftwing opposition to the railroading through of the KORUS-FTA by the Grand National Party this week to slam South Korea for its “modern-day slavery.”
‘Uriminzokkiri’, a propaganda website operated by the North Korean Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland‘, in an article titled ‘Planned Parliamentary Coup d’état’, proclaimed yesterday, “South Chosun’s economy is a tasty bit of bait for America and another step closer to the Grand National Party’s aim of turning the people into modern day slaves.”
In a commentary, ‘For whom and for what is this agreement?’ the website also stated, “Through the KORUS Free Trade Agreement the U.S. is scheming to seize South Chosun’s military and political power alongside economic power.”
Previously, on the 23rd, Chosun Central News Agency also reported, “The Grand National Party rashly snuck through the humiliating FTA document… there is growing opposition in the South.”
