There are various claims inside North Korea for cause of the failed rocket launch. The North Korean authorities announced on the 13th four hours after its satellite launch through its state media the Chosun Central TV that it failed to enter into orbit.
The North Korean people are waiting for an official announcement stating reasons for the launch failure. The majority weigh their reasons on technical fault on the other hand some claim that it is an ‘outside interception’ or a ‘high-level cadre opposition towards the Kim Jong Eun system’. In particular, rumors have spread in Pyongyang that the rocket failed due to opposition powers toward Kim Jong Eun.
A source from Pyongyang revealed today, “There are rumors that the ‘cause of the failure of rocket launch is not because of technical fault but because the cadres who are against the Kim Jong Eun system have deliberately manipulated the machine’”.
Sources revealed, “There are undergoing investigations whether opposition cadres of the Kim Jong Eun system purposely interrupted the successful launch into orbit to discredit them”. And because of this, there are expected to be purges that follow among the party leadership involved with the rocket launch if the cause of failure is sorted out.
The source revealed, “The problem is that the cadres are talking about this. I heard this from a cadre (head) of the Pyongyang city party”.
The source said that rumors are spreading quickly because there are currently no regulations applied to the people talking about the rocket launch failure because it had been admitted by the authorities.
The sources revealed, “The people who have cell phones are known to confirm this rumor having talked with someone from Pyongyang”, “The people are saying that it is not yet easy for Comrade Kim Jong Eun to give the capacity as a leader”. They added, “Now that the holiday celebration is officially over (Day of the Sun) there are going to be full-fledged punishments”.
However, it cannot be ruled out that Kim Jong Eun had possibly spread the rumor himself to blame the rebellious elements of the party for the failure. The source said, “Among the people are evolving rumors that it is a ‘revolt of senior officials’ but the people doubted ‘would the authorities make up such rumor that the ‘Kim Jong Eun system is unstable?”.
The sources hinted that internal measures will take place of the failed rocket launch, “If the rumors are not controlled it will snowball and so the agencies will control the rumor and also punish the disseminators”.
