The New Face of North Korean Border Guards?

[imText1]At the North-Korea-China border, the place where North Korean soldiers can be most easily seen is the area around Aprok River in Shineju. The Shineju border guard unit is not only in charge of post and patrol duty but is also responsible for civilian control. After patrol duty, the guard soldiers return to the base according to the command of the patrol leader (wearing the red armband).

The North Korean authorities started a large-scale inspection project of the border patrol unit since the end of last year and placed the appropriate number of guards on shifts. If the Shineju border patrol unit was also inspected, there is great possibility that the guard have been newly replaced.

The North Korean Shineju border does not look very different from the other years. However, the citizens have expressed that the place exudes a safety than the destitute impoverishment from before. Here is a photo compilation of the Shineju border.
