The wife of famed South Korean composer Yun Isang has visited Pyongyang to pay her respects to Kim Jong Il, it was confirmed on the 28th.
Lee Su Ja (84) could be seen with the couple’s daughter in video of overseas visitors paying their respects at Keumsusan Memorial Palace, as broadcast by Chosun Central TV on the 26th.
Aside from his global renown as a composer, Yun, who died in 1995, is alleged to have played a key role in persuading Dr. Oh Gil Nam to take his wife, ‘Daughter of Tongyeong’ Shin Suk Ja, and their two children to Pyongyang in the mid 1980s.
Unlike South Korean citizens, Lee is able to travel to Pyongyang freely as a holder of German citizenship.
