Kim Jong Eun Expresses Willingness to Hold Talks

In his New Year’s Address today, Kim Jong Eun expressed readiness to hold inter-Korean talks this year.

“We must rewrite the history of
inter-Korean relations,” the young leader proclaimed in the speech, covered by
Chosun Central TV. “We have no reason not to hold talks on the highest
level.”

Kim Jong Eun delivered the address at 9:36a.m.
[KST], touching on politics, the military, economics, society, policies on
South Korea, international relations, and myriad other sectors to reveal the country’s
2015 roadmap.

After Kim Jong came to power, the address appeared
in the form of a New Year’s Joint Editorial in 2012, while in 2013 and 2014 the
speeches were televised.
