The propaganda arm of North Korea¡¯s Committee for Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland, ¡°Uriminzokkiri¡± today attacked the organizers of the upcoming 3rd North Korean Human Rights Film Festival by name.
The article, published anonymously in the name of a ¡°south Chosun problem researcher,¡± described the principle organizer of the film festival, NKnet, as ¡°villainous anti-Republic confrontation fanatics to a man,¡± and the rationale behind the film festival, ¡°changing people¡¯s awareness of Northern human rights and bringing about human rights improvement and unification,¡± as a mere ¡°sophistry.¡±
The piece also criticized a number of the key figures behind NKnet by name, including Chairman Yu Sae Hee, President Han Ki Hong, and Senior Researcher Kim Young Hwan. Hong Jin Pyo, a controversial member of the National Human Rights Commission of Korea, and Kim Sung Min, the founder of Free NK Radio, were also singled out for attack.
The move comes just a day after the same propaganda website described a list of individual South Korean journalists and media groups as ¡°vicious, extreme-right reactionaries who remain ever-ready to plot against the North with lies and falsities.¡±
