[imText1]North Korean Foreign Ministry declared the country’s plan to test nuclear weapon, finally.
Now is time for those who argued that North Korea’s nuclear development is a peaceful one and there is no evidence in the international society’s accusation of North Korea’s nuclear weapons development to fade away.
As the Daily NK has repeatedly warned, North Korea’s nuke development comes from Kim Jong Il’s clinging to power and lack of his knowledge on international politics, and it is destined to end with a nuclear test. Even though the South Korean government is trying to thwart that through a pacifist policy, this announcement of planned the nuclear test by NK Foreign Ministry proves such effort of Seoul as futile.
As soon as Kim pushes the button of the underground nuclear facility, the last chance to bargain will vanish. And then, the international society will be ready to remove the Kim regime from Pyongyang. If Kim Jong Il, the detonator of NK nuclear weapons, is eliminated, every impasse in North Korea will be solved.
It is very simple to deal with Kim; follow the rule. If all of Kim’s illegally-obtained foreign assets are frozen, his criminal activities of drug trafficking, money counterfeiting and WMD exports are stopped, and North Korean people become aware of the reality of the brutality of the Kim regime and prosperity of the outside, Kim Jong Il is doomed to be isolated.
A harsh dictatorship must be treated harshly. And by doing so, the worst kind of vicious totalitarian regime in history will be destroyed.
Kim Jong Il has just announced his plans of suicide. And anti-Kim Jong Il forces are facing the perfect opportunity of North Korean democratization.
Kim Jong Il ultimately will follow his fellow dictator Saddam Hussein’s fate, and the time for North Korea’s liberty and democracy is nearing. South Korean government must join the historic movement toward worldwide democracy.
