North Koreans value education as their highest priority, the results of a United Nations survey suggest.

The "My World 2015" survey asked 130,000 people globally what kind of world they want to live in. Respondents selected their top six priorities from a list of 16.

Among the 41 North Korean residents who responded, 63% want to live in a country with good education, 49% want protection from crime and violence, 49% want an honest and responsive government, 46% want better healthcare, and 39% desire access to clean water and sanitation.

Items deemed less important for the North Korean participants were unemployment benefits, affordable and nutritious food, internet and phone access, better transport and roads, reliable energy at home, political freedoms, and freedom from persecution and discrimination.

21 males and 20 females from North Korea took part in the survey. 30 had graduated from middle school, eight had dropped out of middle school, one had graduated from elementary school, and two had not completed elementary school. 30 respondents were aged between 16-30, nine from 31-45, one from 46-60, and one was over 61 years of age.
