Produced by Director Kim Tae Gyun and starring Cha In Pyo, “Crossing” was filmed in covert locations throughout Korea, China and Mongolia.<\/p>\n
The first Korean movie to deal with the plight of North Korean defectors, its production attracted many prominent film talents to vividly depict events leading up to defection and the process of border-crossing. The events that inspired the film\u2019s production took place in March 2002, when 25 North Korean defectors succeeded in pushing past Chinese guards posted in front of the Spanish Embassy in Beijing.<\/p>\n
