Rason\u2019s party committee has recently called on party cell secretaries and party members who have completed their military service to take the lead in the fight against COVID-19 until the \u201cmaximum emergency epidemic prevention system\u201d is repealed, Daily NK has learned.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOn May 15, the Rason committee called on cell secretaries and veterans to voluntarily take a leading role in preventing the spread of the disease until the crisis is over,\u201d a source in North Hamgyong Province told Daily NK on Monday.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to the source, the Rason party branch called on cell secretaries and party members of good health who had served in the military to help offset the shortage of labor caused by the \u201ccollapse of medical and public health workers from fatigue after working day and night\u201d during the recent outbreak of COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n

The city\u2019s party officials are also urging party members to voluntarily serve as \u201cscouts\u201d to disinfect areas where there have been fever outbreaks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Rason party branch has been drawing up a list of party members to carry on all the city\u2019s disease control efforts. The party members are expected to help transport disinfectants during morning and evening shifts and help with work on farms along with other \u201crevolutionary tasks.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The source explained that the Rason party committee has emphasized that elementary party organizations need to show leadership in guiding and encouraging party members to take on multiple assignments during a challenging time for the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, the Rason party branch encouraged members to view this as a crucial time for assessing their commitment to the party. Specifically, they instructed cell organizations to keep a daily journal of their \u201cbattles\u201d and proudly report their performance after the \u201cgreat war against the virus\u201d is over.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFollowing this appeal by the Rason party branch, around 20 cell secretaries took the initiative to recruit their cell members for the disinfection work. This has led other cell organizations in Rason to follow suit,\u201d the source said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNorth Hamgyong Province has called on all cities and counties to follow the example of Rason so that a similar degree of initiative spreads throughout the entire province,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n
