[imText1]North Korea, with South Korean society as the audience, is toughening the propaganda of its “military-first politics.” Propagandistic organ, “Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front,” introduced the official papers, “We will be an active promoter of the military-first (July 16th),” “Let’s make even more active the movement to support military-first politics (July 16th),” “Let’s deepen the research for military-first politics (July 23),” and others, and urged South Korea’s pro-Kim Jong Il activists to strengthen the research and promotion of military-first politics.<\/p>\n
It also revealed in detail the propaganda methods. The propagandistic organs, via the homepages of “Uriminzokkiri (Amongst Our Nation)” and “Save-the Nation Front,” emphasized to South Korea’s pro-Kim Jong Il activists to widely introduce Kim Jong Il’s papers and analytical writings. “Military-first revolution line is our era’s great revolutionary notion and is the flag of our revolution’s victory.” <\/p>\n
The Rodong Shinmun daily reports, “In southern Chosun (Korea), the propagandistic activity of military-first politics is actively unfolding.”<\/p>\n
The paper reported, “The June 15 Joint Declaration Implementation South Korean Committee announced names, petitions, and declarations safeguarding support of military politics, such as the “Fatherland Reunification Pan-National Union South Korean Headquarters” and “Reunification Solidarity for the June 15 Joint Declaration Implementation and Korean Peace,” and is aggressively developing a movement targeting all levels of society to correctly understand military politics.” <\/p>\n
Further, it reported that the “Solidarity for Implementation of North-South Collective Declaration,” “National University Newspaper Reporter Union,” and “Soongshil University Students’ Association” carried out the Military-first Politics Grand Debate and fueled the praise of each level of society through writings introducing the magnificence and the strength of the military-first politics, which appeared on internet journals such.<\/p>\n
The homepage of “Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front” reports that it has unfolded business activities, thanks to military-firs politics, knowing that normal, societal activities can be preserved on the land. Writings that are purportedly South Korean citizens’ opinions are also posted, such as “I am grateful to North Korea’s military-first politics (South Korean businessman Jang Sung Min)” and “I will give all of my passion and devotion to support military politics, which has given courage and faith to the South Korean populace living in humiliation and disgrace (former official figure Lee Byung Chul).” <\/p>\n
No one should be exposed to the ridicule of the Military-first Politics<\/b><\/font><\/p>\n The word from Kim Jong Il has come down, so this summer, military-first politics discussions centered on university towns and the reunification movement world in South Korea should occur more actively than any other season. <\/p>\n On the surface, what is the intent of the Kim Jong Il regime to promote military-first politics in the midst of its stepping forward in negotiations to resolve its nuclear issue? First, it is to create pave the way for a societal intensification crisis regarding North Korea’s military-first politics and in opposition to America’s hostile policy towards North Korea within South Korea. Second, by repeatedly stressing “war” and the “military,” its intention is to tacitly instill terror in South Korean civilians. <\/p>\n In order to actualize such intent, the powers to be utilized by the Kim Jong Il regime are two. First, the “perpetrators” of the Kim Jong Il are those wearing the masks of minjok (national reconciliation) and peace. The second is people who are attempting to achieve North Korea’s open and reform and peace on the peninsula by embracing the North. The combination of these two powers which conflicts with the portrait of our society’s peace and reunification movement is the reality. <\/p>\n The perpetrators (the Juche Ideology\u2019s followers) of Kim Jong Il did not have any interest in peace on the peninsula nor in the prosperity of the people from the beginning. They only had an interest in the gain and survival of the General Kim Jong Il. The peace and nation they spoke about opposed South Korea’s democracy and North Korean civilians. They do not go beyond shielding the Kim Jong Il regime from international society’s anti-nuclear threats. <\/p>\n What is worrisome is that a part of these powers are naive peace activists. They are “activists who have committed the error of thinking about the Kim Jong Il as their friend and regarding their neighbors (conservative powers, etc.)” living in democratic society as the enemy while having lost ideological discernment.
