\nEscalating discussions on the government\u2019s wartime operational control is further arousing military organizations.<\/p>\n
Former secretaries of defense, radio performers, reserve officers assembled in response to 150 veteran association representatives and 63 organizations who gathered on the 30th for a \u2018Forum in opposition to wartime operational control.\u2019 <\/p>\n
They urged that \u201cThe policy is effective and that the forum opposing wartime operational control is jeopardizing national security\u201d and clarified that the \u2018Nationwide rally\u2019 beginning on the 2nd needs to be cancelled immediately. <\/p>\n
In an introductory speech Seh Jik Park, chairman of the Korean Veteran\u2019s Association said \u201cThe nation needs to know that the conference to oppose wartime operational control may jeopardize national security and lead to a hazardous outcome.\u201d He indicated that \u201cThis government is not an \u2018autonomy\u2019 and must foresee wartime operational control as an issue of national existence.\u201d<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Chairman Park said \u201cIn order to change the president\u2019s mind prior to the Korea-U.S. bilateral talks a \u2018National antigovernment rally\u2019 will take place and \u201cWe will use all our strength until wartime operational control contoured to North Korea\u2019s strategy is abandoned.\u201d<\/p>\n
In regards to the resolution they criticized \u201cnational security and economy is not being considered, but rather political leaders have lightly fallen in the face of publicity and is exhorting wartime operational control with sovereignty. The purpose of these actions is to ultimately scheme a break between the Korea-U.S. alliance by destroying the worlds strongest partnership Korea-U.S. and withdrawing troops.<\/p>\n
Following the rally with veteran representatives, 60 members from secretaries of defense, participating directors, chief generals from the army, sea and air force and reserve officers plan to unveil their petition on \u2018Opposition to wartime operational control forum\u2019 at the same location.<\/p>\n
In order to request that talks of wartime operational control is not discussed at the bilateral talks scheduled next month and the annual Korea-U.S. security conference (SCM) in October, reserve officers are planning to repeatedly request interviews with President Roh.<\/p>\n
The \u2018National Antigovernment Rally\u2019 planned to commence on the 2nd is cosponsored by the Korean Veteran\u2019s Association and The Christian Council of Korea where 10,000 Christians and veterans will participate in upholding the forum of wartime operational control.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
