North Korea has placed the blame on South Korean media for worsening North-South relations.<\/p>\n
North Korea\u2019s propaganda website Uriminzokkiri yesterday posted the contents of a panel discussion entitled \u201cOn the Conservative Puppet Media\u2019s Recent Confrontational Rash Behavior(1).\u201d <\/p>\n
It was emphasized that, \u201cThese days the conservative puppet media\u2019s confrontational slander and level of scheming is exceeding tolerable limits.\u201d<\/p>\n
The \u201cmachinations of South Chosun\u2019s media\u201d were also chastised for \u201cplaying a role in the escalation of North-South tensions as per their anti-Korean race and anti-North stance.\u201d<\/p>\n
The head of North Korea\u2019s government weekly Tongil Sinbo also added, \u201cOn September 11th, the anti-Republic, scheming media group Daily NK discussed \u2018changes in the North,\u2019 \u2018a principled response\u2019, the North\u2019s \u2019unilateral breaking of promises and unreasonable demands\u2019 and that the North had to \u2018change its attitude toward inter-Korean negotiations.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cOur sincere efforts toward improving North-South relations are degraded through these scheming articles full of foul, thoughtless statements.\u201d <\/p>\n
Reference to the postponed family reunions was also made; \u201cThoughtless, scheming remarks were made prior to the separated family reunions. These literary hacks sowed confusion in the minds of the people, and stoked fraternal animosity. As a result, a situation arose where the reunions could only be delayed.\u201d <\/p>\n
It was further claimed that, \u201cThey slandered our \u2018Masikryeong Speed\u2019, undertaken to construct a strong nation under socialism. The marvelous reality of the Republic is that it is bounding forth like a gust of wind, yet they said it was a move to \u2018attract foreign capital\u2019, and to \u2018boost (Kim Jong Eun\u2019s) achievements.\u2019 They have not hesitated in desecrating our destiny and highest dignity. These great offenses cannot be forgiven.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis year, while North-South relations were in a terrible state, the worst of all were the \u2018North Korea experts\u2019. Every time we initiated a proposal to improve relations, the instigators of the puppet regime would say \u2018Don\u2019t be dragged around by the North\u2019s tactics.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
One such expert on North Korean affairs told Daily NK yesterday, \u201cNorth Korea\u2019s oversensitive response confirms that Daily NK and other South Korean media are accurately reporting on the weak points of North Korea\u2019s rule. North Korea will continue to pass the blame for worsening North-South relations onto the South Korean government or media in order to gain the upper hand in negotiations.\u201d <\/p>\n
This is not the first time Daily NK has been the target of such criticism.
