Today\u2019s live fire artillery exercise on Yeonpyeong Island, the scene of last month\u2019s deadly attack by the North Korean military, has apparently gone off without a hitch.<\/p>\n
The exercise began at 2:30 PM and lasted for one hour and thirty minutes.<\/p>\n
According to reports, the exercise was originally scheduled to have been completed by 3:30PM, but was extended in order to complete all the scheduled activities.<\/p>\n
Part of preparations to defend against future attacks such as the November 23rd shelling, the exercise was conducted using 81mm and 105mm self-propelled artillery, including the K-9, the same kind of artillery piece which responded to the November 23rd attack.<\/p>\n
Up to and including the time of the end of the exercise, there were no unusual movements on the part of the North Korean military in the environs of Yeonpyeong Island.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
