Releasing the index, in which North Korea came 177th out of just 178 countries, Reporters Sans Frontieres accused North Korea of \u201cpersecution of the media and a complete lack of news and information.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIn a succession framework set up by Kim Jong Il in favor of his son, crackdowns have become even harsher,\u201d the report also noted.<\/p>\n
North Korea has never been outside the bottom three in the index, which was launched in 2002; in 2009 it came 174th out of 175 countries.<\/p>\n
