Incheon Joins Blue House in Sea of Flames

North Korea has wheeled out former and current commanders of the 4th Division of the People’s Army to threaten South Korea, coming in response to a South Korean army unit in Incheon sticking a battle slogan to a picture of Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Eun.

Former Division Commander Kim Kyuk Shik told Rodong Shinmun on the 4th in an article entitled, ‘The Enemy Is on Our Target Grounds’ said, “We must punish the puppets, annihilating them with flames of fire incomparably more powerful and merciless than the Yeonpyeong Island shelling.”

Turning his attention to South Korea’s President Lee Myung Bak, Minister of National Defense Kim Kwan Jin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Jung Seung Jo, he went on to say that they “will absolutely never be forgiven. Just because you are in Seoul or cowering behind the U.S. imperialist do not think you can avoid our iron hammer. To us, Seoul is just around the corner and our guns are already at your throats.”

The 4th Division is the Hwanghae Province-based division responsible for the Yeonpyeong Island shelling.

At the same time, current Division Commander Byun In Sun appeared in a Chosun Central News Agency piece on the 5th, saying, “In the heart of every soldier in our division there is rising hatred and the desire for revenge against the traitorous Lee Myung Bak puppet party. Whether it’s the Blue House or whether it’s Incheon, everything will be lost in a sea of flames and not a single person will be left standing.”

The two articles allowed analysts to confirm the replacement of Kim, which had been rumored since last year.
