Thae Yong Ho Columns

Former North Korean diplomat Thae Yong Ho provides his views on current events concerning North Korea through videos made exclusively for Daily NK. Thae was North Korea's deputy ambassador to the United Kingdom, before defecting with his family to South Korea in 2016. He is considered to be the highest-ranking North Korean defector since the 1997 defection of Hwang Jang-yop, the creator of North Korea's Juche ideology. The former diplomat released a book about his life in 2018 entitled "Cryptography of the Third-floor Secretariat."
