‘A Tale of Two Tigers’ is the 20th cartoon for The Daily NK by Gregory Pence. A talented freelance cartoonist and Fulbright scholar of Korean nationalism, Pence works with the latest news surrounding North Korea to put political, economic and human rights problems there into a varied spectrum of new light.
Today’s cartoon portrays a very public and friendly relationship between one group of creatures, and a close but seemingly less enthusiastic relationship between another two. Evidently, the tiger and the eagle have spent a long time trying to achieve something in memorial of the 46 fallen comrades from the Cheonan, and are finally starting to get pretty tired. On the other side, another tiger, a panda and a bear seem to be just getting started, in defiance of the assertion: “Don’t feed the animals”…
