On Thursday, The Daily NK acquired these images from a Japanese North Korean human rights NGO, Rescue the North Korean People! Urgent Action Network (RENK). According to these images, Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Eun carried out an onsite inspection to the Wonsan College of Agriculture in Gangwon Province on April 26, 2009. Later, the college erected a memorial stone and a signboard at the university to commemorate the event.

At the entrance of the college, the memorial stone sits beside a zelkova tree. The stone reads, “The zelkova tree is the one the Dear Leader Kim Jong Il and the Youth Captain Kim Jong Eun observed, April 26, Juche 98 (2009).”

In addition, a signboard above the door of the college greenhouse reads, “At the gift greenhouse the Dear Leader Kim Jong Il carried out an onsite inspection and respected Comrade Kim Jong Eun visited on April 26, Juche 98 (2009).”

These images were taken by an inside source of the RENK on early May.

It is the first time when a memorable stone to commemorate Kim Jong Eun’s onsite inspection has been revealed. It implies that the operation to idolize Kim Jong Eun has been ramped up.

An expert on North Korea explained that, “The fact that a memorial stone and signboard to memorialize Kim Jong Eun’s onsite inspection again confirms that Kim Jong Eun is the successor shows that he is now on the same level as Kim Jong Il.” He continued by predicting, “In the near future the idolization work for Kim Jong Eun will be more even more aggressively implemented.”

Yesterday, Lee Young Hwa, the president of RENK held a press conference to release these images and unveil the latest in the idolization process of Kim Jong Eun.
