North Lashes Out against Obama Visit

North Korea has decried U.S. President Barack
Obama’s upcoming visit to South Korea as a “reactionary and extremely dangerous act bringing the dark clouds of a nuclear arms race.”

Citing a representative from North Korea’s foreign ministry, Rodong Sinmun announced on the 21st that of all nations in the Asia-Pacific,
“The U.S is most aggressive toward the Chosun Peninsula and unceasingly engages
in threatening joint military drills.”

“The policy position of our Republic is to accelerate efforts
to strengthen fair, self-defensive controls that can decisively cope with the hostility
directed toward us by the U.S.,” it was added.

Moreover, the piece went on, “If the U.S. continually tries
to sacrifice our national profit then in the end a negative outcome would
emerge for the U.S. regime, too.”

Obama is scheduled to arrive in Seoul on Friday to discuss a wide range of issues, including strengthening mutual cooperation to
ensure the security of the Korean Peninsula.
