North Korean radio broadcaster Chosun Central Broadcast issued an air raid warning at 09:32AM on the 21st. The warning, which was issued in the name of the Chosun People’s Army, ordered all units to immediately put into action plans to deal with air raids.
The broadcast stated: “Notification to all members of the military and the people. This is an air raid warning. This is an air raid warning. This is an air raid warning. All levels of military base and work unit must implement plans to stop damage in enemy attacks from the air. This is Chosun People’s Army Broadcast.”
According to Daily NK sources inside North Korea, for some days now the authorities have been issuing daily instructions on what to do in the event of an air raid or nuclear attack warning via the internal ‘Third Broadcast’ cable radio system.
Nationwide anti-air raid drills are thought likely to follow.
