On July 9th, 2011, Chongryon (Association of North Korean Residents in Japan) held a meeting of its central committee during which it passed a resolution in support of the succession of Kim Jong Eun, then more than five months from coming to fruition.
Filmed in order to show Pyongyang the degree of Chongryon¡¯s loyalty, the meeting was held behind closed doors and a 13-minute edited clip subsequently sent to the North Korean authorities in October, according to information received by ¡®Rescue the North Korean People! Urgent Action Network¡¯ (RENK), a Japanese human rights NGO which obtained and made the video public on January 10th.
