Video Clip of North Korean Border Patrol Office Assault of a Woman

Many suspected that the still-cut pictures of a woman who had crossed the border being assaulted by the North Korean patrol as being fabricated. However, this time the video was shown.

The 15-minute video clip was put on air by Asahi TV, Japan’s “Report Station” on January 25th.

The video recorded last August is 25 minutes long in full length. It contains scenes of a North Korean woman interrogated and assaulted, who was caught crossing the Yalu River for business after secretly having lived in China for 8 years.

Freedom North Korea Broadcast displayed 14 still-cut pictures of the video to the public last September. Some persistently suspected the pictures of being fabricated simply to catch the attention of the media.

‘Report Station’ inserted North Korean defectors’ testimonies in the video, cut to 15 minutes to put on air. The defector who was a border patrol in North Korea, verified that the scenes captured in the video took place in the North Korean military patrol office. Another female defector testified the kind of torture she experienced during the interrogation after repatriation.

It is known that after the South Korean TV, MBC, and others reported about the still-cut pictures, the North Korean military personnel who recorded the video defected last September in fear of arrest.
