“Father Complex” Results in Kim Jong Il’s Indulgence

[imText1]A distinguished U.S. political psychology expert concludes that Kim Jong Il’s obsession to look magnificent is a result of a “father complex.”

The U.S. CIA’s “Center for the Analysis of Personality and Political Behavior” founded and directed by Dr. Jerrold Post of the George Washington University revealed in an interview with the JoongAng Daily on the 12th “(Kim Jong Il) lectures to the citizens to sacrifice for the Juche ideology while living in a palace full of indulgences, has stemmed from his obsession with looking magnificent.”

Professor Post said “Kim Jong Il has focused on propaganda proclaiming his father’s natural heritage. Having to fulfill those big shoes’ is a very difficult task” he explained. “Kim Jong Il who knows fully well that he is different than his father and exaggerates his actions and tries to portray himself as a giant messiah. Further, “This kind of grand fantasy of splendor and indulgence is only to give himself confidence,” and “as his father is always on his mind, his actions bring insecurity and suspicions.”

“If he (Kim Jong Il) is pressured, he becomes more defiant because he
wants to show he is strong, Professor Post added.

Further he said “His biggest interest is maintaining his own existence and he knows that the use of nuclear weapons will lead to his own destruction.”

In regards to a resolution on the North Korea nuclear issue, he said “They must believe that if the nukes are surrendered, then they will be able to gain the things they desire,” and “We must also send a clear message that at the same time, if nukes are not surrendered, then they will be completely isolated. It is important that luke-warm Russia and China ties be strengthened with the U.S. and that South Korea also needs to acknowledge this matter.”
