Park Beautifying the Yushin Dictatorship!

‘Uriminzokkiri’, the propaganda website run by the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland, today published yet another story attempting to link Park Geun Hye with her father’s two decades of dictatorial rule, this one entitled, ‘The pro-Japanese blood has exposed itself. Will she really beautify the Yushin dictatorship?’

“There is no greater traitor to the people than the Yushin dictator,” it declared. “That Park Chung Hee ruled South Chosun for 20 years is both a historical tragedy and a shameful thing for this people.”

And yet, it went on, “There is a farce going on in the South Chosun political scene right now, praising the pro-American, pro-Japanese Yushin dictator and glamorizing his fascist rule which absolutely reeks of blood.”

The story follows on from a video published on the 18th by ‘Uriminzokkiri TV’ called ‘I love Yushin’. The video is a parody of singer PSY’s worldwide hit ‘Gangnam Style’, with Park’s image on the singer’s face alongside critical text and images of Yushin era South Korea in the background.

At the end of the video, next to an image of Park doing what PSY fans might call "riding the horse", the video declares, “Yes I love Yushin. Yushin is my hometown, my creed, my future. I’m Yushin style” [see picture].
