North Korea has heavily criticized upcoming combined U.S.-South Korean military exercises, calling them a “clamor for the invasion of the North that makes the situation worse.”

Chosun Central News Agency released the accusation today in an article entitled, in English, “U.S., S. Korea to Hold Big Firepower Strike Drills” or, in Korean, “Situation-weakening Clamor for North Korea Invasion of U.S. Imperialists and south Chosun Puppets.”

According to the English version, “The U.S. imperialists and the south Korean warmongers plan to stage DPRK-targeted joint firepower strike drills in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province on June 22nd.”

The plan involves “38 units including a U.S. helicopter unit, mechanized and artillery brigades under the 5th army corps, units under the air operation command and several air force formations of south Korea (sic.),” it addds.

The Korean version also notes, "The puppet Ministry of National Defense revealed this on the 18th."
