North Korea is at full tilt to make hay out of Kim Jong Eun’s greatest weakness, his youth. Youth has no correlation with leadership, the media are keen to point out
Chosun Shinbo, published by Chongryon (General Association of North Korean Residents in Japan) released an article on the 6th, ‘The Young Leader Giving Hope to the People’, in which it stated, “In Chosun, the youth of a leader is not a destabilizing factor, it is the very basis of ‘stability’.”
“The foreign media assess incorrectly that the period of time for Supreme Commander Kim Jong Eun as successor was too short, but in reality the opposite is true,” it alleged.
“It is the good fortune and glory of our people to have a youthful great leader who makes Kim Il Sung Chosun all the brighter on this first morning of the new 100th year of Juche,” it then went on.
To cover up Kim Jong Eun’s young age, Rodong Shinmun has also asserted that even Kim Il Sung founded anti-Japan guerrilla forces when he was in his 20s and that Kim Jong Il also became the ‘leader of the military-first revolution’ in his teens. North Korea’s overall stance? That Kim Jong Eun’s age is not a problem.
