Kim visits Sinchon Museum, calls for stronger ideological education

To mark this year’s 62nd anniversary of the
Korean War armistice, Kim Jong Un made a visit to the anti-U.S. propaganda
site, Sinchon Museum, located  in South Hwanghae Province, Korean Central
News Agency reported on July 23rd.

“Sinchon Museum is the foothold of
socialist ideology education, the provenance of thirst for revenge, and a
historical site that reveals that bestial brutalities of the imperialist United
States,” Kim allegedly said during the visit, calling for the strengthening of ideological
education material through the museum.

Amid what he referred to as “surging anti-American
sentiment,” the young leader went on to underscore the importance of stronger
socialist ideological education domestically and called on the young
generation, who “did not endure the tribulations of war,” to never forget,
“even for a second,” the nexus of North Korea’s revolution: anti-American
imperialism and ethical education.

He added, “The world has fallen under the
imperialist United States’ deceptive propaganda and misbelief that the U.S.
is the guardian of peace and human rights. We must raise awareness on and evaluate
the United States’ brutality and insidiousness.”

Sinchon Museum, built with the objective
of corroborating the atrocities of the United States, opened on June 25th,
1960, the day of the 10th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War. The
site is replete with exhibits the North alleges are evidence of the U.S.
military’s war atrocities , including the killing of some 35,000 North Korean
civilians.

Kim Jong Un visited the venue last November
to mandate a refurbishment of the museum. Remodeling at the site launched last
February and was completed within four months.

Among those accompanying Kim Jong Un on the
visit were Kim Ki Nam, official head of the Propaganda and Agitation
Department, Kim Yo Jong, a vice director in the same department and head of Kim
family idolization projects
, and Hwang Pyong So, director of the General
Political Bureau of the Korean People’s Army [KPA].
