Kim Orders Increased Seafood Supply

Kim Jong Eun has ordered the North Korean military to construct a facility capable of providing marine products year-round to elementary schools, middle schools and nursing homes.

Today’s edition of the Rodong Sinmun published details of Kim’s visit to a recently completed storage facility for such marine products, built by KPA Unit 534.

While there, Kim allegedly tasked the military with “distributing fish 365 days a year to nursing homes, middle schools, elementary schools, child care centers and orphanages throughout the nation.”

Construction is to be completed prior to the birthday of Kim Il Sung, also known as the “Day of the Sun,” on April 15th.  Fish is hoped to be distributed from early autumn.

Kim Jong Eun’s recent New Year’s Address also emphasized the importance of marine products, and the need for the industry to modernize in order to ensure an increase in the overall catch size.

Kim was accompanied on this visit by Director of the KPA General Political Bureau Choe Ryong Hae, 1st Vice Minister of the People’s Armed Forces So Hong Chan, Lt. Gen. Pak Jong Chon and KWP Deputy Directors Hwang Pyong So, Kim Byong Ho and Jo Nam Jin.
