Daily NK Condemned for “Scheming”

Daily NK has been condemned by North Korea as a place of “anti-republic scheming.”

Uriminzokkiri, North Korea’s propaganda website managed by the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Fatherland, also singled out Young NK, a South Korea-based student group advocating for human rights in the North.

In a piece published on the 12th entitled, “Now Even Students Are Making a Ruckus About North Korean Human Rights,” it was claimed, “This student group are the offspring of those who betrayed their own people, and the descendants of the remnants of the fascist military dictatorship.”

The students were also referred to as “degraded trash who engage in gambling and criminal acts,” and “cannot even discern where indeed a human rights wasteland might be as they don’t understand the concept.”

Moreover, “On the one hand they seek to destroy the image of our regime, the best in the world that places the people at the center. Meanwhile, they intend to hide the truth of the rotten and diseased human rights situation of South Chosun, a blind spot of democracy in worldwide disrepute.”

“The only press who reported (Young NK’s activities) was the full-time, anti-republic schemers of Daily NK,” the piece concluded.
