Kim Oversees Exercise Near Key Islands

Fresh from forging a warlike atmosphere via the recent annulment of the Korean War Armistice Agreement and visiting West Sea military bases, Kim Jong Eun has overseen artillery drills targeting Yeonpyeong and Baekryeong islands.

Chosun Central Broadcast revealed the news on the 14th, stating, “Marshal Kim Jong Eun guided live-fire artillery drills to establish the battle capacity of artillery units in the hotspot around Yeonpyeong and Baekryeong islands.”

It added that the purpose of the exercise was to practice live-fire training and guarantee the performance of men and equipment under fire. It also gave detailed information on the equipment used in the exercise.

According to the broadcast, Kim Jong Eun particularly complimented the work of Jangjae Island Defense Detachment and Moo Island Hero Defense Detachment, noting, “Through the live-fire event conducted today, I am sure that the 4th Corps (which controls the defense of the wider region) is ready to throw the enemy on Yeongpyeong and Baekryeong islands into a burning cauldron.”

He further invited the two best defense detachments to visit Pyongyang, and then posed for a commemorative photo. Moo Island Hero Defense Detachment was the unit responsible for the November 2010 Yeonpyeong Island shelling that killed four South Korean citizens; a clear message for the South Korean government.

Kim was accompanied by key figures from the North Korean military and Party.
